You can finish your day with a picnic and swim in the river, just perfect.
ON ARRIVAL
From the moment you arrive, everything is ready for you to settle in and unwind. A continental breakfast is available for you to enjoy the following morning, along with coffee, tea or a hot chocolate available anytime.

Our Story
The name Glenchuca is inspired by the Scottish Highlands - "Glen" meaning a narrow, peaceful valley. Just like its namesake, Glenchuca Cottage offers a serene retreat tucked into its own quiet corner of nature, where gentle mornings, bird filled forests, and riverside calm invite you to slow down and soak it all in.
Nestled in the Herbert Forest, it is a truly ethereal place to be - with the pristine Waianakarua River on our doorstep, exciting walks through native bush, and 24 mountain bike tracks weaving through the forest. Glenchuca Cottage offers a peaceful retreat to truly slow down—whether that means immersing yourself in nature, taking a refreshing swim in the river, wandering the trails at your own pace, or simply doing nothing at all. Bring your bikes to explore the surrounding tracks, making it easy to experience the landscape in a more adventurous way, before returning to the quiet comfort of the cottage to unwind.
